Some gear is made to sell. Ours is made to last — and to belong in the wild.
Hi, I'm Nick — an outdoor gear designer who spent years creating products for major brands. My days were full of sales targets and marketing campaigns. But what I really wanted was to make something that mattered.
In July 2023, I founded HillZero: a small, independent outdoor gear studio rooted in creativity, craftsmanship, and a genuine love for the outdoors. Half our time is spent in nature. The other half is spent designing and building gear that reflects that experience. It's an idealistic vision — and we've never stopped chasing it.
Built by Hand in Shenzhen
Our Shenzhen studio is where everything begins. Sewing machines, seam-sealing equipment, pattern tables — and a clear commitment: we make everything ourselves, from first sketch to final stitch.
We could outsource. Factories might even do it faster and cheaper. But making gear by hand gives us something no factory can: a deep, tactile understanding of every seam, every material, every structural choice. That knowledge feeds directly into our next design. The studio is our creative soil.
More Than a Tent Brand
People call our tents "hot tents" or "stealth camouflage tents." We see them differently.
HillZero designs camping tents for independent outdoor enthusiasts — people who want to genuinely experience nature, not just survive it. Camping isn't reserved for hardcore adventurers. It's a lifestyle for anyone who wants to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with the wild.
Our Design Philosophy
Lightweight, Not Extreme
The best backpacking tents don't sacrifice durability for weight. We choose materials that perform in harsh weather and last for years — not just the thinnest option available. The Scout 2P 2026 is a perfect example: genuinely lightweight, with real wind resistance built in.
Beautiful, Not Fragile
Most campsites are stunning. Our tents are designed to belong there — shaped by an outdoor aesthetic that feels at home in the wild. The Rheum Nobile 4P looks breathtaking set against a winter forest. That's intentional.
Wild, Not Rough
Our reimagined tiger stripe camouflage draws from military heritage — but the purpose is different. It's not about concealment. It's about capturing the raw, untamed energy of the jungle and weaving it into every product we make.
Our Specialty: Neo Solo Camping (NSC)
People often ask me: "What's your design style?"
After years of exploration, the answer is clear: Solo Camping tents — but not the traditional kind.
We've developed a concept called NSC — Neo Solo Camping: a lightweight, aesthetic-driven camping culture built for modern urban dwellers. Weekend escapes. Short forest retreats. Mindful time in nature — without the burden of heavy expedition gear.
NSC blends the refined minimalism of Asian camping culture with the raw authenticity of Bushcraft, creating a new style perfectly suited for 1–2 person weekend adventures.
More beautiful, more functional NSC tents are coming. Stay tuned.
